At Above The 6 We Want Your Time, Not Your Money
Above the 6 is a not-for-profit basketball association that has gained a reputation for developing young girls into successful prep players. With a focus on promoting diverse growth, the organization has helped 19 former or current players from their 2005 and 2007 teams to secure positions on prep basketball teams over the last few years.
Above the 6 strongly encourages its players to engage in activities outside of basketball to help them develop life skills and broaden their horizons. This approach has helped their players to succeed both on and off the court, as they gain valuable experiences and develop as individuals.
The organization has strong connections to the Toronto Raptors, some of the top trainers in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), prep schools, and college and university coaches. These connections provide players with access to valuable resources and opportunities to develop their skills and gain exposure to potential scouts and recruiters.
Above the 6 follows the development models outlined by Canada Sport for Life, Canada Basketball, Jr. NBA Canada, Physical and Health Education, and the Toronto Raptors Basketball Academy. This ensures that players receive a well-rounded approach to their development, focusing on not just basketball skills, but also physical fitness, mental health, and personal growth.
With a focus on promoting diverse growth, strong connections to industry professionals, and a commitment to a well-rounded approach to development, Above the 6 provides its players with the resources and support they need to succeed in basketball and beyond.
At Above the 6, we believe in partnering up with coaches, trainers and other programs to ensure that we are offering the best development possible.
Programs are organized and facilitated by Head Coach George Thomas.
